H.D.A. Is designed to inhibit G.I. inflammation and maintain a healthy digestive tract in individuals with peptic and duodenal ulcers or colitis. Raw cabbage, in its fresh, powdered or extracted forms, has been shown in clinical studies to promote the healing of gastric and duodenal ulcers; ulcer pain was relieved in a few days, while ulcerations were substantially healed within three weeks. “Vitamin U” (for Ulcer), the archaic name for the ulcer-healing factor in cabbage, has been identified as an amino acid, methylmethioninesulfonium bromide. This amino acid improves cellular metabolism and helps to protect the mucosal lining of the digestive tract. The other herbal ingredients in H.D.A. provide soothing, cleansing, and healing actions. Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme is a natural anti-inflammatory. Acetyl-d-glucosamine is a precursor in the production of collagen and has been found to promote the regeneration and repair of damaged mucosal tissue. Take H.D.A., initially, two capsules four to six times daily (more often if desired); reduce after several days and establish a maintenance level, normally two capsules two or three times daily.
