GABAMax is similar to CeroLox in that it supports serotonin and GABA but is different in that it contains N-acetyltyrosine instead of phenylalanine. The small amount tyrosine will provide neurotransmitter balance by supporting catecholamine synthesis but will not increase PEA.

GABAMax has been used successfully during the initial phase of neurotransmitter therapy to reduce catecholamine excretion prior to using Optimum-C, Optimum-S, or TransLean. GABAMax my also be part of the ongoing therapies for patients with neurotransmitter over-stimulation.

Product Ingredients
GABAMax contains the amino acid theanine, which has been widely studied for its ability to provide a calming effect and prevent the neurotransmitter stimulatory effects.

These studies match observations by NeuroScience that theanine reduces PEA, norepinephrine, and epinephrine activity/turnover and urinary excretion.

Taurine is another inhibitory amino acid in the GABAMax formula. Taurine acts by enhancing the effect of GABA. Together these amino acids can quickly reduce high neurotransmitter excretion. The serotonin precursor 5-hydroxytryptophan is included because serotonin is an important neuromodulator that enhances GABA activity.
N-acetyltyrosine is included at very low levels to maintain neurotransmitter balance.

Other ingredients in GABAMax are vitamin and mineral cofactors of the enzymes required for the synthesis of neurotransmitters.
