UltraMeal Plus cholesterol lowering food provides plant sterols (including beta-sitosterol), superior soy protein, and body-ready folates in a delicious, heart-healthy meal replacement beverage to promote healthy cholesterol levels and a healthy body composition.

Provides 15 grams of soy protein per serving from PharmaSoy®. Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 25 grams of soy protein a day may reduce the risk of heart disease. Cholesterol lowering food soy protein has also been shown to have cholesterol-lowering effects.

Provides 2 grams of plant sterols cholesterol lowering food per serving. The NIH recommends consumption of 2 grams of plant sterols to promote healthy cholesterol levels. Cholesterol lowering foods containing at least 0.65 g per serving of plant sterol esters, eaten twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 1.3 g, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Cholesterol lowering food such as meats must be lean when purchased to have the greatest benefit.

Remember that among meats, pork, bacon and ham are highest in fat and cholesterol content and therefore are not cholesterol lowering food. They should not be eaten while you are on a diet to lower cholesterol.
