my parents divorced when i was ten and i went to go live with my mom and my step dad so i never really got to see my father nor did he even care to come visit my sister or me. so we grew up the rest of our lifes with tanner being our "dad" anyways i chose to have tanner walk me down the isle and he was so emotional because he had raised me from the age of 11! it was very hard not asking my father to walk me down the isle but really he wasnt there for me and it would not mean anything if my father walked me down the isle. i wanted tanner to walk me down the isle!

This is a lot like most parents. They secretly cling to the days when their child was still a child athat they could take care of them forever and watch them learn and grow up, but they do know that eventually, they have to let go as they move out, become grown ups in their own right, or be mature adults in some fashion.

At least, that's what I think.
