But yeah, 18 months to 2 years is definately a good period of time for them to sleep in their own bed. I'd also make sure that the bed is as close to the floor as you can so that way, they won't get hurt of they fall of the bed, or if they do, they won't get seriously hurt. Maybe a booboo or two.
