Question Birth Control????

I know a 14 year old girl that is planning on taking birth control pills..

When I first heard about this I was very surprised because I immediately thought that she was having sex. But I guess she wants it to control her period.

Is that safe? What are the risks from taking birth control at her age and well the risks from taking it at any age?

My girlfriend takes it and she made me learn everything about it. It all depends if she has any kind of health problems. If she has diabetes, then she's at risk for blood clots in the leg. Birth control not only helps regulate your period, but it prevents ovarian cancer in the future. So remember that. haha Another thing to remember is that it doesn't protect you against HIV/AIDS or STI's.
