Early in 1984, the industry’s first free-form amino acid products in preservative-free capsules with only active ingredients were marketed. Our name was Ultra Amino, and we were ahead of the curve in providing physicians with amino acids free of excipients. Our initial success led us to expand our product line to include more conventional nutritional supplements and we changed our name to Metabolic Maintenance Products, Inc. in August of 1984. Our name changed, but our focus was still amino acids.

In 1994 Metabolic Maintenance moved to Sisters, Oregon, a small mountain town at the base of the Three Sisters range in the forested wilderness of Central Oregon. Our new location provided an optimal “natural” environment for the production of our brand of natural medicine and it dictated a new look. With our products now in glass amber bottles, we shifted from a clinical to a more natural looking label emphasizing the Three Sisters Mountains and our pristine surroundings.

Our forward-thinking, pioneer spirit led us to be the first GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certified company in the Physician-Exclusive market. The requirements of GMP prompted our next generation “new-look” labels which incorporate the GMP logo, a more readable supplement facts box, and bar coding. Our connection with nature endures with six new and unique images – each reflecting one of our six product categories. We hope you enjoy the new look labels.
